San Antonio, literally translating to Saint Anthony, is one of the most populated cities in the United States, coming in at second in the state of Texas.

The city was originally founded as a Spanish colonial outpost in the year 1738. It is the first chartered civil settlement in the state. For almost a decade, from 2000 to 2010, San Antonio was the fastest growing city in the list of top ten largest cities in the country.

The boundaries of the city include five of the several Spanish missions, including the famous San Antonio Missions National Historical Park and The Alamo, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Tourism is popular in the city, with San Antonio getting more than 32 million tourists every year.

Some of the points of attraction in the city include the River Walk, SeaWorld, Alamo Bowl, and the Marriage Island. The United States Armed Forces also happen to have several bases in the city. The city is also home to four of the Fortune 500 companies, namely, Valero Energy, iHeartMedia, NuStar Energy, and USAA.

The city had a GDP of over $121 billion in the year 2018 and is currently expected to grow at a rapid rate.
